Don't forget Buddy Bear! Jamie Oliver and Jools make parenting look easy as they take their four children to the park

Family day out: Jamie and Jools Oliver take their children Poppy, nine, Daisy, eight, Petal, two, and six-month-old Buddy Bear to Primrose Hill in London

Having four young children is a handful for any couple but Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools made it look easy during a day at the park.

The pair took Poppy, nine, Daisy, eight, Petal, two, and six-month-old Buddy Bear to Primrose Hill in London for a family day out.

The chef, 35, held onto Petal as his two older daughters rode down the hill on their scooters.

Jools, 36, kept a firm grip on baby Buddy as they strolled through the North London park.

Petal was having a great time with her doting father as he lifted her upside down and kissed her on the cheek.

The couple's relaxing day at the park came as the chef spoke out about the government’s investments in school food.

School dinner prices increased by 17 per cent yesterday, with charges expected to rise to £2.60 in some areas, threatening Oliver's campaign to encourage pupils to eat healthier meals.

Oliver said over the weekend that he hoped the government would continue to invest in ‘quality school food and the integral support and training of kitchen staff'.

He said: ‘It’s the long-term health, happiness and productivity of the future of our country that’s at risk.

‘I believe any compromise on a child’s right to a healthy school lunch or their access to learning about food… is child abuse on an unimaginable scale,’ he wrote in a Sunday newspaper.

But the Department for Education said: ‘We make no apologies for giving headteachers complete freedom over their budgets – they know what’s best for pupils, not ministers.’

Oliver’s TV series in 2005, Jamie’s School Dinners, led to the Feed Me Better drive to improve lunches.
