In or Out: Gwyneth Paltrow in Vionnet

The "Gwynnie's Paw's Down Home Cookin' Tour" continues.

Gwyneth Paltrow signs copies of her book 'My Father's Daughter"
at Williams Sonoma in NYC in a Vionnet dress.

Vionnet Spring 2011 Collection

We're not so sure this is working as a look. On the one hand, Gwynnie's made for these sort of "slightly preppy with an edge" styles. We like everything from the waist up, for the most part. On the other hand, we dislike almost everything from the waist down. First off, that's a whole lot of leg for a book-signing. If this dress was white, it would look like a bathing suit coverup. Also, we really hate pointed hems. Call us hopeless traditionalists if you must, but we always think a pointed hem mini looks like a superheroine costume. And finally, the shoes. We keep going back and forth. We're pretty sure we love them taken on their own. We're not at all convinced they work here. There's so little visual interest to the dress that your eye naturally goes to and stays on her lower half. Maybe that was the general idea, but we don't think it works. Hair and makeup are pretty, though. You guys make the call.

VOTE NOW!

IN! She looks chic, simple and classic!

OUT! She looks like a slutty nun!

Minion opinion on Halle Berry's Barbie dress? IN, darlings. The commentariat did not agree with T Lo. Bitches.
