In or Out: Rihanna in Carlos Miele on American Idol

As world famous and beloved fashion bloggers, it's always fun to see a celeb wearing a dress we watched walk a runway in person. Lorenzo in particular was quite taken with the Carlos Miele fall collection and, no surprise here, loves this dress on Rihanna. Tom is not quite so sure. In fact, we had one of those moments where one of us assumed we were on the same page and reacted with shock upon finding they were wrong. "You don't like it?" asked Lorenzo, lower lip trembling, "But it's VELVET!" he whined. "You LIKED this collection!" "There, there," said Tom soothingly, "I still like this collection; I just don't like this dress on her."

We talked it out, like loving, supportive couples do, and ultimately decided that the other one was full of shit. Here's the rundown: Lo thinks it looks luxurious and sexy and perfectly suits Rihanna. He especially loves the pleating running down the dress, giving it visual interest. Tom likes the pleating as well, but thinks the color of this dress doesn't suit her at all and, because it's a pleated velvet gown, it's only going to flatter the very skinniest, tiniest portions of the population. On Rihanna (who is still skinnier and smaller than the vast majority of people) it tends to make her look a little thick on her lower half.
