Fashion forward Sarah Jessica Parker makes a bold sartorial statement as she steps out in what looks like a dressing gown.

The 46-year-old actress was was pictured today leaving her New York apartment in the white robe, which she teamed with jeans and wedge heels.

While to most it may look like a bath gown, in fact the Sex And The City star was wearing a very trendy hooded coat.


Fashion forward: She was in fact wearing a trendy hooded coat which was exhibited at New York Fashion Week


It was exhibited on the runway at the Halston Heritage Fall 2011 runway show during New York Fashion week recently.

Later on in the day the actress changed into something more normal-looking - Converse trainers and a cardigan-style jacket.

She was also spotted taking her twins, Marion and Tabitha Broderick, for a walk in their double push chair.

Parker, who celebrated her 46th birthday last month, has recently been spotted on location filming her new flick, New Year's Eve, in the Big Apple.

Others making the movie's all-star line-up include Ashton Kutcher, Lea Michelle, Katherine Heigl and Kelsey Grammer.

But since filming her scenes, Jessica has been taking some time out to spend with the family and celebrate her birthday.
